Training & Ongoing Support
You don’t need to have spent years in attics to run a Woolsey location. What you need is a willingness to learn the trade, follow a system that’s already working, and treat homeowners the way you’d want your own mother treated. We’ve built our training around exactly that. Glenn Hartley came into this business knowing that a good operator with solid backing beats a lone wolf with a truck every time. Here’s how we get you ready, and how we keep you ready.
Initial Training
Your first two weeks are spent at the Kingswell training facility, working through the same curriculum every Woolsey owner completes before they open. Week one is operations and the trade itself. You’ll learn to assess an attic, read a thermal bypass, spec the right R-value for your climate zone, and talk a homeowner through why spray foam might suit their roofline when batt won’t. We use the real words, then explain them. “R-value” is resistance to heat flow. “Thermal bypass” is the gap where warm air sneaks past the insulation you just paid for. You’ll handle Owens Corning, Johns Manville, Knauf, Rockwool, CertainTeed, Icynene, Demilec, and GreenFiber products until you know which performs where, and why.
Week two covers the business systems. Our software handles scheduling, job costing, and the written price delivery that The Kingswell Guarantee requires. You’ll practice hiring interviews using our background-check protocol, because every technician who wears a Woolsey shirt is verified and uniformed before they ever knock on a door. Marketing setup includes local SEO, direct mail templates, and how to build referral relationships with HVAC contractors who don’t do insulation. You’ll leave with a printed operations playbook and a direct line to the support team that helped write it.
Launch Support
The gap between training and your first paying job is where a lot of new businesses stall. We don’t let that happen. Your launch specialist helps configure your local lead engine, sets up your territory’s digital presence, and reviews your initial pricing structure so you’re competitive without racing to the bottom. We co-op your first direct-mail campaign to established neighborhoods, the ones where attic upgrades follow HVAC replacements like clockwork.
Your first three jobs are shadowed. A Kingswell field coach rides along, watches your technique, and steps in only if something’s about to go sideways. They’ll check that your written price matches the homeowner’s expectation, that your arrival window was kept, and that the site is cleaner when you leave than when you arrived. That’s The Kingswell Way. By job four, you’re flying solo with daily check-ins. By job ten, you’re mentoring the next trainee. Wool was the first insulation. Woolsey keeps the idea in the name, and we keep the standard high from day one.
Ongoing Support
- Field coaching. Monthly ride-alongs with a senior technician who reviews install quality, customer interaction, and safety protocol. They’ll spot the compressed batt you missed or the attic hatch that needs weatherstripping before the homeowner calls to complain.
- Marketing refresh. Seasonal campaign kits, updated creative, and A/B tested direct-mail pieces that respond to what’s actually working in your region. No guesswork, no blank-page syndrome.
- Vendor relationships. Preferred pricing and priority delivery across all eight brands. When supply tightens, our volume moves you to the front of the line.
- Technology updates. Software improvements roll out automatically. Training on new features happens before you need it, not after you’re confused.
- National brand campaigns. Kingswell runs awareness advertising that drives inbound interest to your territory. You benefit from brand recognition you didn’t have to build alone.
- Peer network. Monthly owner calls where independent operators share what’s working in their markets. No corporate filter, no mandated script. Real numbers, real problems, real solutions from people running the same playbook you are.
You’re Never Alone
Every Woolsey location is independently owned and operated, but independence doesn’t mean isolation. You get the systems, the backing, and the brand that answers its phone 24 hours a day with a live person. If you’re ready to build something real in your community, call (325) 240-5411 or request info below. We’ll give you the price before any work starts. That’s The Kingswell Way.
